Buddhist meditation is a way to be truly present. To let go of the noise of everyday life and to observe with open attention what is going on. It is an age-old technique that helps to calm the mind, to concentrate and to investigate with gentleness.

There are different forms of Buddhist meditation, of which mindfulness is the best known. This form of meditation invites you to be consciously present with what presents itself in the moment, without judgment. This sounds simple, but can bring about a profound change in how you deal with thoughts, emotions and stress.

By meditating regularly, you not only develop more inner peace and focus, but also a deeper understanding of yourself. It helps you to live your life with more clarity and compassion.

Below you will find various training courses and workshops in which you can experience for yourself what meditation can do for you.

Sangha Veldhoven
Meditating together is easier than alone. In a group, a Sangha, you relax more quickly and it is easier to meditate than when you sit at home in a room where your daily life takes place.

On Monday evenings we meditate together. This meditation is very suitable for beginners, so don't hesitate to come if you've never meditated before. The door is open from 7.15 pm and the meditation starts at 7.30 pm. We start with a topic from Buddhist philosophy and then meditate in silence for 45 minutes. Afterwards there is time for tea and conversation.

Meditation circle the Path of Eight
Eight times a year, a dedicated group of Buddhist practitioners gather for a meditation circle that is entirely focused on deepening our practice of the Eightfold Path.

This gathering is intended for those who are already familiar with Buddhist meditation and wish to focus on integrating the eight paths into their daily lives.

The Eightfold Path is the core of our meeting. Every aspect of the meditation circle is designed to deepen our understanding and practice of right speech, right action, right livelihood, right concentration, right effort, right mindfulness, right thinking, right insight.

We begin the circle with a brief introduction in which we take a closer look at one of the eight paths and discuss how this path can manifest in our meditation and in our daily lives.

The meditation itself consists of a combination of concentration and insight meditation, where we focus on cultivating a deeper inner silence and clarity. After the meditation there is room for reflection and questions. These conversations offer the opportunity to learn from each other, support each other and jointly delve into Buddhist teachings.

This meeting is a valuable opportunity to deepen the practice of the Eightfold Path with others on the Buddhist path.

Character structures and the elements
A character structure is formed as a baby so that you get attention from your parents so that you survive. Very clever actually.

As you get older you want to let go of this structure, because you always need other people's energy for it. You can get your energy much better from elements where you don't need anyone else, in any way.

There are four different character structures:
1. Poor me, the victim
2. The journalist or interrogator
3. The leader or bully
4. The hermit or aloof

You may already have noticed, the first one only has a negative side, the other three have a positive and a negative side.

We have one of these four structures in our character and use two or three of them as a protection mechanism. When you have poor me as a character structure, it's damn hard to get rid of that. The remaining three at least have a positive side to move towards. But as mentioned, in all cases it is always better to get energy from the elements.

However, it is initially important to be aware of which character structure you are using. Only by taking a radically honest look at yourself and your behavior can you change those mechanisms and thus live a much more pleasant life. It is best to look radically honestly in meditation.

Sensory meditation
Sensory meditation is a form of mindfulness in which attention is consciously focused on the senses.

Instead of using the breath as a point of observation, sensory meditation uses the perception of what you hear, see, feel, smell and taste. This form of meditation helps to strengthen the connection between body and mind and promotes a deeper presence in the present moment.

By focusing your attention on sensory perceptions, you train your mind to be more present in the moment. This can help reduce distractions and improve your focus. Like other forms of meditation, sensory meditation helps calm the mind. Focusing on sensory perceptions can help you break free from worries and stress. You learn to perceive and interpret physical sensations better, which helps you become more balanced.

With regular practice, sensory meditation can sharpen your perception. You become more sensitive to subtle details in your environment, which enriches your overall experience of the world around you.

The Heart Chakra, also known as Anahata, is the energetic center located in the center of the chest.

It is the fourth chakra and represents love, compassion, unity and acceptance.

When the Heart chakra is open and balanced, we feel love and connection with others and the world around us. Blockages in this chakra can lead to feelings of loneliness, sadness and separation. It is therefore important to devote sufficient time and attention to opening and balancing this powerful chakra.

The Heart Chakra Meditation of Karunesh is based on meditations from Sufism. It has six phases, the first four of which consist of simple movements. You will be guided by me and the music and we will finish with a sitting meditation and deep relaxation. Afterwards there is time for tea and conversation.

Bodyscan meditation 7 min (Dutch)

You can do this body scan meditation both sitting and lying down. Guided by my voice, you scan your entire body so that you relax completely.

Metta Meditation 10 min (Dutch)

Metta meditation is a Buddhist meditation on compassion, compassion and unconditional love. Something we can all use in these turbulent times.

This is a 10-minute guided meditation where I guide you through different stages. There will be silences in between in which you continue to practice quietly and focused.
